What is the InBody Test?

Why should you take an InBody Test?

Ages 9-12yrs

Understand your weight

When you measure your weight, what are you actually seeing? Weight alone is a poor indicator of health because it does not distinguish fat from muscle. The InBody divides your weight into water, muscle, and fat.

Set Your Goals

BMI is an inaccurate way of measuring how healthy you are. Instead, focus on your body fat to weight ratio, also known as percent body fat. Measuring your Percent Body Fat allows you to better your health from the inside out so you focus on fat loss and not just weight loss.

Measure Your Strength

How much muscle do you have in your arms? Your legs? With the InBody Test, discover how many pounds of lean mass you have distributed in each portion of your body. See which exercises bring out the best results and get balanced gains.

Track Your Progress

Knowing how much fat and muscle you have is only the beginning. With your baseline set, continuously taking the InBody Test allows you to monitor and track the changes in your body.

How to Prepare

Ages 11-18yrs

For accurate results follow the below procedures. You should look to retest only every 4-6 weeks. More frequent testing is not recommended as it takes this time to see significant changes.

  • Tests should take place at least 2 hours post meals. However if you do take after a light breakfast ensure that you have the same meal next time you measure. (Food mass will skew water and weight numbers.)
  • Tests shouldn't be taken post workout.
  • Tests shouldn't be taken immediately post shower. (As in just stepping out)
  • For females avoid testing during the menstrual cycle. (This will skew body water numbers)
  • Use the toilet prior to testing to ensure an empty bladder.
  • Preferably tests should be taken in the morning, however if taken later in the day try and repeat the test at the same time of day for repeatable results.
  • All of the above protocols won't affect the fat levels too much but will cause variation in body water levels and therefore weight and skeletal muscle mass due to hydration levels.
